My ups and downs cycle in average two-three month patterns, where for the first couple of months I%26#039;m in a hypomanic state, going outside everyday, shopping and spending excessive amounts of money, wearing makeup, and losing a large amount of weight caused by anorexia, feeling invincible, and then the next couple of months I%26#039;m back to locking myself up inside the house, binge eating, gaining lots of weight, crying, and completely cutting off all my connections with the outside world. Due to this unstable cycle I have thought about dropping regular school and taking up homeschooling, losing friends, have been unable to work for an allowance, and feel worthless and hateful toward myself most of the time. I have actually hurt myself and have thoughts of death many times.
I don%26#039;t want to keep struggling with this into my adulthood, because I want to be normal, and I want to pursue fading dreams and become a successful adult.

These symptoms are very much like bopolar disorder but the are also very like those for some personality disorders and could also be caused by hormonal fluctuations and/or physical disorders such as diabetes and allergies to certain foods.
The only way to find out is to go to a doctor and get checked out physically and then if you are physically sound get help from a psychologist. Don%26#039;t try to diagnose yourself or let someone untrained diagnose you. If it is bipolar, simple medications will ease your manic/depressive states and let you lead a normal life. If you couple the medication with therapy you might even be able to get past the point of needing medication.
Good luck dear.
