OK, I know the common reasons, such as not enough sleep and failing liver, but I%26#039;d like to know the precise scientific reason why. And, er...how to get rid of them (apart from sleeping more).
Cheers.

Hi Emo, funny you should ask this question, as yesterday I found one of The most common ways we get bags.
It%26#039;s by sleeping with your head elevated too low.
So the solution? Use a higher pillow, or better yet, add another pillow so your head is elevated better.
This way, when your sleeping, water won%26#039;t retain at the way of gravity(downwards).
It makes much sense to me. My friend, a sports medicine doctor, told me about this.
I tried it last night for the first time and I woke up with much less baggage!
It wasn%26#039;t as hard as I%26#039;d thought to sleep that way either.
A few things we know for Certain that causes bags under our eyes include:
-Lack of sleep-The number 1 factor!
-Genetics. This also plays a key role-If your parents had it, most likely you can or will also.
-Poor nutrition-This also has some factor
-High sodium intake-This helps retain water(especially if your sleeping on a pillow that sinks in)
-Unhealthy liver-As you said
-Smoking! This causes bags, as well as circles, or at least amplifies them
-Stress! Just common sense, but stress will %26quot;literally%26quot; stress your eyes out also!
So what else can you do?
Drink less alcohol
Decrease stress levels in life\
Try facial exercises-This helps build facial muscles
Sleep with your head well elevated
Drink lots of waterAnswer Over!
