Some people have a side effect of opiates causing them to have problems sleeping. Most people they knock out but there are those that they make sleeping almost impossible.
I%26#039;m one of those people. I have a chronic pain condition that requires me to take pain medications every day. Next to the pain my biggest problem is sleep. I have been fighting with it for years.
Here is a link that can help you and your husband. Good luck

Most people don%26#039;t understand what going without much sleep, or not getting restful sleep can do to you. It can make you sick in no time at all.
And I agree with the first answer as far as the marijuana goes,,,not the alcohol. Drinking while taking pain medications is just asking for a big problem.
I live in California and have been using medical marijuana for several years due to a spine injury. It is one of the few things that really does help with sleep.
And by the way,, I%26#039;m not a kid,, I%26#039;m 56,,so it%26#039;s not a matter of it getting me high,,,that wears off after awhile,,but it does help with certain type of pain,,which in my case is nerve pain. I am able to take less medication because of the bud and that means I have an easier time sleeping. When I am out of California I have to take about 30% more opiates to help the pain since I don%26#039;t smoke it where it is still illegal. I believe there are 12 or 13 states that now have medical marijuana available. I participated in a pain study at UCSD years ago for marijuana use. That%26#039;s how I started using it for medical purposes, not getting it on the streets. For many people like me it is just another medication,,the only difference is that I smoke it instead of taking a pill.
It%26#039;s not for everybody but it does help. Good luck

Maybe it sometimes helps to do the odd things like have a glass of warm milk before going to bed maybe watch TV for a bit then when trying to sleep think about the exiting things in life and about the things that maybe are going to happen. Abey get some memory foam cushion%26#039;s or softer matres. i used to have sleeping problems but these odd things CAN help
