Education:Does anyone know something (anything) about bone spurs?

my to for and have the in of it heels when can that
Does anyone know something (anything) about bone spurs? A few months ago a bump on one of my knuckle bones in my hand came up (it is on the palm side of my hand). It hurts at random times, and has progressively gotten bigger. I am in between insurance at the moment so I cannot afford to have it examined by a doctor.

About the same time that came up, I did a promotional job that required me to wear a certain kind of heels. I have worn heels nearly all my life, but this particular day these heels killed my feet. It now hurts the balls of my feet (where the small bones behind my toes are) to wear heels for more than an hour or stand on my feet in flat shoes for several hours. It seems to be connected with this bump in my hand.

Bone spurs have been suggested. I avoid wearing heels and standing for too long, but unfortunately my second job (promotions) requires standing and standing in heels! Any ideas on what else it could be, and what I can do until it can be treated (if it can at all)?

I also have bone spurs, luckily,my job doesnt require heels!! Mine started when I was in college..podiatrist (when i could finally afford to go) said he could operate and grind them off for a few thousand. i decided to live with it. my son,now 14yrs,has already been advised to have surgery to remove some foot bones and add tiny screws to hold bones together.needless to say,he freaked out.so we just live with the pain. i take several prescription meds for pain when over the counter stuff doesnt work. Alleve gelcaps are really good. i switch between that, tylenol, and motrin. pharmacist advised it would hrt my stomach eventually, but i have to work....hope things get better for you!!! try to sit when you can. especially if you have to wear those awful shoes!!!! best wishes, hthr

  • Ouch! The only thing I can think of is some thick pads for your shoes or those corn pads, that might help some. Not sure bout your hands. I%26#039;m no doctor but I have only heard of bone spurs in your neck?
  • They hurt and make for an angry girlfriend... :-) Life experience...
