How to relieve lower back pain? I have had horrible lower back pain for about 2 days. Maybe from sleeping wrong, I%26#039;m not sure. I can%26#039;t afford to see a doctor at the moment; is there any way to relieve the pain at home? I%26#039;ve tried stretching, sleeping a different way, and just plain rest but nothing is working. Please someone help!

For the one who asked, I don%26#039;t live in a poor country. I%26#039;m originally from Florida. But I moved to Scotland for 6 months to live with my boyfriend. It doesn%26#039;t mean I am poor. Everyone has those moments when money is a little tight. I%26#039;m sure you have had those moments as well.

If the pain is a sharp, stinging and stabbing pain it could be kidney stones and in that case drinking plenty of water will help for the pain.

It could, of course, be due to twisted muscles from sleeping wrong and in that case hopefully it will cure itself very soon. If not then you may have to see a doctor.

Heat and massage will be your best bet in relieving pain. If you can go to a physical therapy or athletic training clinic, electric stem will really help. Also ice after doing alot of activities. contract your abs more and do more ab exercises as this will help with future pain. A foam roller which are about 25 dollars work wonders too. athletic trainer

use an icy hot patch(they make them big enough to go on ur lower back) or just get icy hot in a tube and rub it on ur back
you can also try aleve or ibruprofen (they are anti inflammatories so they will ease the swelling in ur back muscles that are causing u pain)

Try using a heat pad or a hot water bottle . Thats what i use for my back pain .It will help .

I agree deep heat is good and some paracetamol oh and a lush hot bath before hand with plenty of bubbles...

try deep heat and get somone to rub it in all over your lower back. that should ease it slightly.
