Major braces pain, 10 pts up for grabs 4 hlep? i just got my braces on yesterday. i just felt presses about for the fist 3 hours of having them on. soon after that it got pretty bad by around 10 at night it hurt to talk. i was able to brush my teeth this morning but i couldn%26#039;t floss on account that i can move my teeth and my whole mouth is really sore (the gum is that soft all ready is that normal?)if it helps im 13. i cant really eat cause i don%26#039;t know what will hurt me and what will not. if anybody has advise out the i will gladly take it and sure ten pts are up for grabs. i just really need some help. i am the oldest cousin in my family and they r coming soon to my town i have no ides how im gonna keep up wit the other 4 of them while it hurts this bad i have a high pain tolerance so it really sucks. everything hleps thnxs

pain is completely natural with braces, especially for the first week or so. dealing with the pain depends on what type of pain you are in. if youre in pain because they are scratching, cover them with wax, it will be unbelievably smooth and feel terrific compared to braces. if youre in pain because your teeth are moving, thats a good thing because the braces are working, and really the only way to deal with it is pain relievers like advil or tylenol. dont eat any foods you have to chew a lot. yogurt, jello, or applesauce are good to eat. also make sure to stay away from foods that could get caught in braces that you may not know about, like eggs (they could be caught and you wouldnt realize it for the rest of the day). when you get your braces off (i know it seems like a lifetime away, but the day will come) make sure to wear your retainer. some of my friends didnt and had to get braces again, which you will not want to do. good luck!

• dont worry about it i had braces about two years ago
  they hurt like hell for the first few days
  just take some pain killers eg. paracetamol, iburofen, cocodomal etc
  it should take away the pain
  itll stop hurtin pretty soon
  it will hurt again every time you have them tightened but you will get used to it

• They only thing that you can really do is take tylenol or something along those lines. That is what I took when I had them and it seemed to help. It will take a couple of days though for you to get used to them, but the medication should help.
• Ibprofen or however you spell it. Braces are a pain, but trust me they are worth it when you get them off and everyone is complementing you on your smile! Hang in there!
• The best thing to do other than taking pain medication is to find something to take your mind off it.
• Ive had braces. It hurts for 3 weeks after you get them on. Nothing you do can make them stop hurting...
