I have chronic ankle pain for a month now..what%26#039;s the deal? I dont recall a sprain or any injury. The only potential cause could be that I did a lot of walking recently, when I went on a trip around the time I think the pain started. It has continued, despite much rest. Any ideas what this could be?

Actually this has the tell tale signs of a stress fracture. If you have done any amount of walking (and I don%26#039;t mean your usual walking) and maybe you have carried any weight (bags or yourself!) then this could easily be the cause.

Visit your GP who will advice you how to rest it to ensure it heals correctly. In the meantime, you could try Ibuprofen every four hours to ease the soreness.

But really your GP will probably ask for an X Ray to confirm this but I suspect this is the case. When you visit the GP, don%26#039;t forget to tell him it started after lots of walking. Nurse 100% 1 Vote
