Tetanus is pretty rare actually but it can be fatal. If you had a tetanus shot in the last 5-10 years you should be okay. The tricky part is keeping the wound clean especially if it is a deep puncture. rubbin alcohol is okay but you should definitely get some iodine and get it in there as deep as you can. Make sure to clean the wound daily with soap and water then put iodine. Let it set for a minute or so then rinse, dry thouroughly and coverOther Answers (3)

your fine!! dont worry, my friend got scratched REAL deep on rusty metal bleachers and she turned out fine, just put antibiotic ontment on it every couple hours and wash it. KEEP IT CLEAN! and youl be fine =]]]

You%26#039;ll only get a tetanus shot if you%26#039;re not sure when the last shot was. Just keep it clean, and if you start to feel bad in a day or so go to your doctor. You might want to call them just to say you cut yourself and see what they suggest.
