  • I fractured the 5th metatarsal in my foot 4 years ago and my right wrist 6 weeks ago. I%26#039;ve also broken one of my fingers 3 times. Got the cast on my wrist off this morning and can barely move it. It is extremely painful and will take a long time to heal completely. Dozens of people have come up to me during the past couple of months to tell me their %26quot;break%26quot; stories. Almost every one of them said that they still experience pain in the extremity that was broken...even years later. That%26#039;s been my experience too. I just want to be sure that you understand that the pain is something you might have to live with the rest of your life.

If you fall forward and catch your weight on the heal of your palm, your wrist will, in all likelihood break. If it does, you will %26quot;really get hurt.%26quot; Pretty often, the fracture will require a pin to be surgically implanted in order to hold it together. Even if you have excellent insurance, it could cost you upwards of $500 because insurance usually doesn%26#039;t cover the entire cost (my out-of-pocket expenses have been just under $1,000 and I have great insurance).

Even the fracture of a small bone in my foot sent my life in a different direction--it changed my gait which made my back twist, which resulted in an injury in my lower back that left me with permanent nerve damage (a right leg that feels like it%26#039;s asleep). You simply can%26#039;t control this kind of thing.

If you change your mind, you might want to check out some %26quot;Nonviolent Communication%26quot; or %26quot;Compassionate Communication%26quot; websites to learn how to clearly identify your feelings and needs so that you can develop strategies that are truly life enhancing.

Hope I%26#039;ve given you something to think about. 0% 0 Votes
  • to make it look real try falling down some stairs deliberately sticking your arms out

putting your arm between two supports and whacking the middle prob would do the job but would be obvious to the nurses what you did

i%26#039;d personally work on why you want to do this, what you will really gain from it and is it worth it...

  • if you can skateboard, go down a ramp and at the end have friends hold a rope so you trip over it make sure your arms are out in front of you. if you cant skateboard just go downa big ramp and again with the arms forward thing.

  • Lay your hand on one chair and your shoulder on another, so your elbow is not being supported by anything. Then have a friend jump on your elbow! Rember your elbow should be facing up..a nice major hyper extension of the elbow feels SWEET!!! 0% 0 Votes
