Blood Pressure? my blood pressure is usually relatively low, about 110/70 when i%26#039;m calm. but when i%26#039;m really really excited or nervous it shoots up to like 150/85. is this ok, esp. if i%26#039;m nervous for a long period of time? as long as it goes back down to like 110/70 again?

Well it is normal for your blood pressure to raise when you are excited or nervous.

In my opinion, i think that nothing will actually happen if you are nervous for a long period of time. However, if you really do have HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, then you would have to be more careful about maintaining your blood pressure.

High blood pressure can destroy artery walls and cause blood clots after years and years of having high blood pressure.

You will be fine. A few hours/minutes of being nervous would not do anything to your body. Its a normal thing.

  • My blood pressure is usually low also, about 90/60. That is just normal for me. It skyrockets when I exercise or get really anxious too. But my doctor says I am perfectly healthy. I do try to exercise as it does help keep it more stable it seems.
  • That is fine.
Blood pressure does tend to increase if you are worried or excited so there is no need to worry.

Your BP of 110/70 is fantastic. RN
