  • Sometimes medications have other uses than just the one they were originally made for. This medication can be used for post-herpetic neuralgia (the burning, stabbing pains, or aches that may last for months or years after a shingles infection). This may be why the doctor prescribed it, not that you had shingles, but that you are having nerve pain. Take it and see if it works......if it takes care of the headaches or at least lessens their severity or frequency, it is worth it.
  • Amitryptyline will make you sleep.
Apparently your dr. feels you aren%26#039;t getting enough sleep. This particular drug is an antidepressant. Don%26#039;t take these pills, they%26#039;re terrible.
There are so many migraine pills on the market, find a new doctor who is more in tune with what%26#039;s going on the modern world. Using this drug to treat migraine is old school.
  • they also help you relax and sleep at night...
