My doctor said that you can not drive or operate any machinery when taking Codeine.I would make sure that you have a ride to and from work and only go if you can%26#039;t hurt yourself or others if the medicine makes you tired.
Also, notify your supervisor and HR rep so you%26#039;ve covered yourself against the anti drug policy.

You cant be fired for have a legally prescribed dug in your system. Doctors keep regards of all the prescriptions it would just take a call to clear it up.
Do not drink alot of coffee or any other caffeine loaded loaded drink especially when your sick/injured/on medication it will do nothing but harm.
If you feel like you cant handle work then stay home it will certainly be healthier and it will look better to your bosses if you stay home sick rather then go to work and preform poorly. -
usually if you have a doctors not saying you have permission to take those pills, but you should watch taking it and driving to work, i have had to take darvacet and the doc told me that i should not take it at work because of the drowsiness. even if you drink a ton of coffee it will not over run the meds. just be aware of what you are doing if you have to take it at work.

I would think your best bet is to take the drug when you know your going to be at home to see how you react to it. As far as a anti-drug workplace. If you have a prescription, you%26#039;ll be fine. But DO NOT go around talking about it to anyone! Keep all that stuff to yourself. No one needs to know your business!
Caffiene always reduced effects of opiates for me. -
I would say if the pain is bad enough that you need the narcotic, then you should stay home and rest.
Your companies Drug Policy does not apply to prescribed narcotics though. -
