A lot of water went into my right ear while taking bath and now it is hurting....What is the remedy?
Best Answer - Chosen by Voters
please try lying on your right side where the ear got water. stay in that position for a while. then you will feel the fluid warmly oozing out from your right ear. if this positioning will not work out, time to consult your doctor.

If you feel like you have half the Pacific trapped inside your ear, it%26#039;s because that part of your ear canal runs down and backward, and gravity is working against you. The answer is not hopping around and shaking your head like a rhythmically challenged dancer. Illustrated by Jason LeeTilt your head, grab your lobe, and pull it down. Tilt your head, grab your lobe, and pull it down. Dry your ear with a towel, tilt your head (waterlogged ear toward the shoulder), grab your lobe, and pull it down, says James King, MD, president of the American Academy of Family Physicians. If you%26#039;re prone to infection or swimmer%26#039;s ear, ask your doctor whether alcohol drops can help.

Although this may tingle, or actually hurt more...
These are the instructions:
1. Get ready the faucet, and let it drip a bit.
2. Let the water drop about 5 times onto your index finger.
3. Dribble the water into your right ear.
4. Tilt your head to the left.
5.. YOU WILL FEEL A VERY TINGLY SENSATION IN YOUR EAR.
6. Tilt your head to the right and the rest of the water will come out.
After all that, DO NOT USE YOUR CELLPHONE/PHONE ON YOUR RIGHT EAR. THE RIGHT EAR IS THE MOST SENSITIVE AND LEADS MORE DIRECTLY TO THE BRAIN.
Old home-remedies, doctors.

SwimEar...it helps in most cases. If it doesn%26#039;t work, you%26#039;ll likely get an infection and have to go to a doctor. I have used regular rubbing alcohol (a few drops) in place of swimEar, and it worked as well. Then I read the ingredients on a bottle of SwimEar, and it IS basically alcohol. So yeah, use one of the two.

Tilt your head to the right and and put the palm of your hand up against your ear. Push it tight against the ear and then pull it away quickly....your making a suction with your hand. Do that 4 or more times until the water comes out.

Get a sterile eye dropper and some rubbing alcohol. Drip some of the alcohol in your ear, hold it for about five seconds, and drain your ear. Sounds weird, but it won%26#039;t hurt and it feels better instantly.
