When i get into the ocean my legs start to sting? I am in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and when i get into the ocean, after a while, it stings my legs. I get out of the water and there are streaks on my legs. It%26#039;s not a jellyfish, and it%26#039;s not seaweed. I don%26#039;t know what it is, but it happens every time i get in the water. I have had to skip swimming for two days just because of it. It stings for 20 minutes. I have tryed to put meat tenderizer on it, but it didn%26#039;t help. Does anyone know what this is, and if you do, is there anything i can go and buy to get rid of the sting, or any home remedies?

Could it be because my legs have open little cuts from shaving? I don%26#039;t see any cuts, but there still might be some.

I recently visited gluf shores, and had the same stinging sensation. It is actually littly tiny bits and pieces from jellyfishes%26#039; stingers that have washed into the ocean. Don%26#039;t worry, its a very small concentrations and is completely harmless.

  • try putting salt on an open wound. hurts doesnt it. the salt in the sea water is hurting where you shaved.use a better razor.if you can stand the disscomfort you can go swimming.maybe try baby oil on your legs.maybe .r you certain its not jelly fish.ask someone near the beach that lives there year round.
  • Most Likley your skin is just sinsitive
    to the salt water.
  • it is probably that your skin is having a reaction to the water. put on lotion or not get into the water at all.
