I%26#039;m not sure what I was bitten or stung by, PLEASE HELP!!? So I was swimming in my moms underground pool and when I came up out of the water I started to feel a bad stinging feeling in my arm. Right away it started swelling. The only thing I could find around me in the pool, was a beetle type insect with wings. I%26#039;m not sure if this was the culprit. This occured 6 days ago and the symptoms are getting worse. The wound is a little smaller than a dime and is pitted in the middle. from the wound and halfway around my arm is swollen, bruised, rashing and extremly itchy. It seems to get worse and go further up my arm everday. Can anyone tell me what bit or stung me????

Sounds to me like a wolf spider, they hang around the edges of pools eating insects that float by, and they often end up floating themselves. They mistake rescue for aggression and bite the hand (or arm) that could have gotten them to dry land.

Go to the doctor or emergency room. It has been too long; the wound should be getting better, not worse!

Sounds like an infection, and infections can move very quickly in tissue injured by a spider bite.
