What do you mean by small? If it is big enough, it could splinter when you try to pull it out, leaving some behind and potentially causing infection. Whatever you use, please make sure it is sterile and have gauze pads and antibiotic cream readily available.Whatever you do, it will likely hurt because it will pass the nerve endings in the subcutis layer of skin. I had this same issue. I tried hot water and epsom salts and then duct tape over the top to try and pull it out but mine was in too deep. I had to sit backwards on a chair with my legs out and have someone else use a needle and tweezers. It was excruciatingly painful but cost less than an emergency room visit.

get some alcohol and a needle...as for painless...no way around that....clean with alcohol use needle to try and pick the glass up farther and then squeeze on each side until it comes up and pull out with your finger thats what i would do if i didn%26#039;t have any tweezers...

You might try applying ice to your toe to numb it some then use a needle and get it over with. Or if it is sticking out enough for tweezers ask somebody to bring you some. Go with the ice though.

this may sound painful..but if you just take it out very very very quick and get it over with it will be less painful the pullingit out slowly..no matter what it will hurt but quickly pulling it will make it LESS painful
