My niece is sunburned really bad...? She%26#039;s got it pretty bad. We%26#039;ve put aloe on her and gave her a cool bath, and gave her some water. She%26#039;s resting now, but I have to ask. Is there anything else we can do? My dad is paranoid about taking her to the doctor and her getting taken away from us because she got burned while my mom was at the doctor. She was going to pick up sunblock on her way home. My mom doesn%26#039;t think that the doctor can do much of what we%26#039;re doing now. I know one thing is for sure. She will NOT be going outside for a few weeks. So. Any good tips?

  • If it%26#039;s a very severe burn she could also suffer from sun stroke, sickness or heat sickness. It is best to take her to the doctor. I am sure a doctor would be sympathetic if you told them that you did not know she would have such an adverse reaction to the sun and that you were in the process of getting some sun screen. Get the child to a doctor, they might be able to prescribe a higher dosage of pain-killing cream. 0% 0 Votes
  • what I%26#039;ve been told is that aloe will keep the heat in. The Dr. shouldn%26#039;t be worried about parenting skills, sunburns happen. The best stuff out there for a sunburn is silvadene but it is prescription only 0% 0 Votes
  • Try filling your bath tub with cold water and put ice cubes in the bath tub and that might help the sun burn go away faster 0% 0 Votes
  • vinegar in the bath will relieve some of the ache..........you may need to seek medical advice if it is really bad 0% 0 Votes
