Anyhoo, can aloe lotion make my sunburn feel better? Should I consider taking lukewarm showers for a few days? I%26#039;m just sunburnt on my chest (where my t-shirt didn%26#039;t cover), arms and face....not real bad, though.

No one has suggested this - - and it isn%26#039;t a common medical recommendation even though I am an MD - - but I think aspirin or ibuprofen helps. It makes sense to me that an anti-inflammatory agent (NOT Tylenol) may reduce the redness / inflammation of the dermis. My remedy is two aspirin every four hours with a bit of food to reduce gastric upset - - - and an aloe vera lotion (as many have recommended here - - it really can%26#039;t do any harm).I can tell that this is what I do, and it helps - especially for a fairly mild sunburn as you describe. Take lukewarm or cold showers. Do not bathe with warm water as it will dry your skin further.
Take a small bottle of milk of magnesia and about 4 Tablespoons of Benadryl. Mix them up and apply on the affected areas. This mixture is used successfully as an anti-inflammatory in pediatric patients and it does wonders. Remember, apply on, not drink.
Drink aspirin as Spreedog tells you, start taking vitamin C to speed healing, and keep away from the sun completely until you heal.
Keep yourself hydrated, too. -
this will sound silly, but sour cream and plain yogurt will reduce the redness alot. and aloe will definetly make your sunburn feel better :) just slather some of the sour cream on, wait till its dry then take a cool shower. the temperature doesnt really matter to the burn itself, but cool showers are always preferred because it hurts you.

DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON IT!
Drink lots of water, take painkillers, keep warm, rest... Burns suck, and there isn%26#039;t much you can do for them. Anything you put on it will have to come off just making the burn worse. Do not put anything on it! It is the worst possible thing you can do...
After the burn has cleared up, remember to wear sunscreen. EMT -
I dump vinegar on mine it sucks the heat
right out...right now. Your skin is still
%26quot; burn..ING %26quot; ...as long as it is hot. so take the heat out first. Then I take 2 Ibuprofen every 3 hours and obviously stay out of the sun for a while. If you need to put out the fire again...dump on more smelly vinegar( the smell dissipates in a few min ) -
Try a really good hand cream like from Bath and Body Works and mix it with a little tanning lotion, then the hand cream will help the sunburn and the tanning lotion will make it look more like a tan!!!

Aloe Vera is good particularly if you can get a piece off a plant rather than a cream with aloe in it, just break off a piece of the plant and keep gently rubbing it over the affected area

Aloe work the best for me. I usually take cool showers when I have a burn, as the hot water makes it feel like it is burning again. Feel better.
