There are special labs that custom make them to fit the amputee. Usually the doctor will refer the patient to the lab to have it made. I know there is a lab in Long Beach, CA on Long Beach Blvd. near Memorial Hospital.Other Answers (2)

You do not buy them! It is not like buying a pair of shoes? After the limb has been amputated, they wait for the stump to heal. Only then will they literally make a cast of the stump and then proceed to make the artificial limb. Best of Luck
