  • african greys do not carry any serious diesases to most people. aside from painful and annoying some ice and some disinfectant(wash with soap and water.and probaly a band aid or soemthing to help your nail from ripping more would be good. i have personally been bitten by no less then 50 diffretnkinds of birds AND i have a suppressed immune system and the worst thing i%26#039;ve ever gotten out of it was a broken finger by a macaw and an african grey tore part of my fingernail off. also a few stichtches from a bite on my lip form anpther macaw but for the most part no real issues. a good idea is to read and get as much info as you can on bird body lanuage so you can read the signs of an upset or angry bird. bird handler, small animal care taker, lots of bird experience 0% 0 Votes
  • It takes a very long time to grow out...I mean MONTHS, but the pain will go in a few days. Take ibuprofen. File your nail short, so that it does catch or hit anything, because it will be tender. There is always the chance of infection...antibiotics? And your tetanus shot must be up to date, or you%26#039;ll need to get one (every 10 years). • There%26#039;s always a danger when the skin gets broken by an animal bite. Go to a doctor and get advice. You may need a tetnus shot. 0% 0 Votes
