  • It could be that the impact caused some bruising and tenderness to the area causing it to swell a little!

It also could actaully be a small fracture! I know it seems a little too soon to heal - and ur right -it wont be fully healed for 2 weeks or so- however it will have began the process and the bruising and swelling you describe will clear up quickly-- in this sort of injury that is only really due to the trauma to the area at the time oof injury--- some fractures dont swell or bruise and dont cause much pain at all!!!!!

try putting a cold compress on it and holding ur hand up by ur shoulder for a little while everyday to reduce swelling and promote healing!

  • well there are a few signs to be aware of in relation to fractures (if it is one)

    D - deformity
    U - unatural movement
    T - tenderness
C - crepitus (you can hear to bones moving)
    H - history (what happened)

    L - loss of movement
    I - iregularities
    P - pain
S - shortening, swelling (is your finger shorter than its counterpart?) 0% 0 Votes

  • Sounds like you have a bone fragment or jagged bone edge from a previous fracture that severs a blood vessel when bumped. 0% 0 Votes
