Small peice of glass in foot? Over the weekend a glass fell from the mantel in the kitchen and I thought I sweept it all up. But the next day I stepped on a small peice. I hurts when I walk on it a certain way. I have no insurance so the doctor is not involved. I tried to pull it out with tweezers but I can no longer see it. Please is there any solustion to how I can get this small peice of glass out of my foot. Anniversary weekend so it needs to be gone fast. Thank you so much and I will give a best answer (10 Points)

Its too late for glue. Its been 5 almost 6 days

Best Answer

If it has been 5 to 6 days chances are its healing around it which is going to make it harder to remove, I understand you don%26#039;t have insurance so you can try to go to the local fire dept and see if they will remove it for you. If not then use epsom salt in warm water and soak it for 20 min then that will loosen the skin making it easier to try and remove with the tweezers. Keep soaking it and trying. But you should really try and get to a doctors or free clinic. Good Luck. EMT student

  • If it%26#039;s not too late, you can spread Elmer%26#039;s glue on it. After the glue dries, peel it off. Like I said, if you haven%26#039;t waited too long, the tiny piece of glass may stick to the glue and it will come out when you remove the glue.
If the glass is too deep you can wait until it starts to fester and squeeze it out. This scenario will leave you in pain for a longer period of time though.

    Good Luck with the glue.
  • try soaking your foot in warm water for awhile. Like, for an hour while you watch TV or something. That should help coax it out.
  • The same thing happened to me. It was about 3 days later that I realized I had glass in my foot on the sole area. It was paper thin and the size of a tear drop. I use nose hair trimmer scissors to cut into the sides of the cut to widen it and fiddled it with tweezers to get it out. Try pushing the skin down so you do not have to dig in so much, you know? Mind you, it WILL hurt like hell because you are basically cutting yourself over and over while fiddling with tweezers trying to get it out but you will feel so much better afterwards! Try some hydrogen peroxide to disinfect and it might numb it a little bit, just a little bit. Good luck! If all fails, then go to a free clinic.
