Dont use anything but soap (no perfumes; use something like dial or irish spring) and water. Things like peroxide and alcohol damage the healthy tissue. As someone else said you are probably allerigic to the ring. Esp. if you can only wear gold earrings. Go back to the piercing studio. They can either change the ring to a gold ring or take it out. It should be healed by now.

my cousin had that happen to her and she was told to use tea tree oil on it...you could also be allergic to the metal in the ring...i could only use titanium rings, as the sterling silver ones irritated me...you should probably try going back to where ever you got it done at and have them look at it...they will be able to suggest some of your options...

Id try metho. or even a dose of antibiotics. it may be infected internally.
Antibiotics will boost ur immune system to clear the infection if one.

try bactine. use it only once, clean your belly spray it then rotate the ring so the bactine can be pushed through inside. seems to clear up everything overnight
use it on mine when its infected

The gage was to big,get a tight fitting banana, and USE PEROXIDE!!!!
if that doesn%26#039;t work, let it close and get it redone with a smaller gage needle....

I would try some sea salt. Mix it with some warm water in a glass or bottle and then either pour it over it really well and turn it so it gets inside the hole, or put it in a container so that you can squirt it..if you have a squirt bottle that is clean this will work really well. This was recommended to me by the professional that done mine and it worked really fast. But if it has been six months, I would go to a place where they do these peircings and let one of the employees look at it..this will be free instead of going to the dr., and they can tell you what you can do...there are many different ways to fix it but it could be that your body is just going to continue rejecting it. I have had mine done twice and the first time I had the same problem and it seemed like it would never heal completely and I took it out finally..then had it done at a later date and never had any problems whatsoever. Just go and ask them and if they think you should take it out, they will let you know...but please take their advice if they do recommend removing it because it can get really nasty if you don%26#039;t and your body is rejecting it...I could tell you a few stories..but I won%26#039;t because it might not be the same as yours and I don%26#039;t want to sound negative or scare you. The professionals that do this would be your best bet..I have tried everything and this worked best for me..just make sure it%26#039;s real sea salt..and i just got it at the grocery store(in case you don%26#039;t have any at home) in the spice isle. Good luck to you and hope it heals soon! Six months is a really long time for it to be having any puss at all..the scar tissue is probably normal for you but still please have it checked....hope this helped!

Sorry about your troubles
The best you can use to help the healing of this area, is to use Vitamin E oil. The oil promotes healing.
Clean this area regularly and keep it dry as much as possible. Apply Peroxide to the area as needed.
Get the Vitamin E Oil Capsules, put a whole in the capsules and apply at least 3 times per day. You will begin to see healing. The Vitamin oil in the capsules of course is of a more pure quality.
This works on any skin problems. I had surgery some time ago, when I came home from the hospital. I immediately start applying Vitamin E oil. My sutures area was wonderful and healed so well. When I went back for my suture removal the doctor was amaze at the healing that has taken place. Of course I told him about the Vitamin E. In fact the skin had begun to heal in such a rapid time the some of my sutures were a little difficult to remove because the skin had heal so fast around the sutures.
Hope that help you.
