How can i stop my lip from bleeding?

How can i stop my lip from bleeding? They were chapped and i kept picking away at the skin (i know, i know, shame on me- and trust me, i%26#039;ve learned my lesson). It%26#039;s been like that for 3 hours now and it%26#039;s still bleeding....continuously. I%26#039;ve applied pressure, i%26#039;ve put chapsticks and ointments on....what else can i try to make it stop?

I have a tendency to pick at my chapped lips too.....but I don%26#039;t pick to the point of bleeding!! But, I have raised 6 kids and have gobs of grandchildren. This is what I have always done when 1 of the kids got a bloody lip.....suck on ice cubes or popsicle (Sp.?)...worked everytime. Once you have stopped the bleeding, then use the chapstick (medicated if possible) or first-aid ointment.

• use wet washcloth, apply pressure and when you take the washcloth off be very very careful so you dont pull the scab off 0% 0 Votes
