Once I could not get a ring off of my finger and so i had to go to the emergency room. The nurse used a specially developed device that cut the ring off my finger without the slightest pain. This is a last resort but it is a painless option if worse comes to worse. It was a 3,000 dollar ring and I ruined it but it was better than having a permanent guest on my finger.

You%26#039;re probably making it swell up by fussing with it. Place your hand in a bowl/sink of ice water, which should decrease the swelling of your fingers.
If possible, have the ring cut off. Jewelers can sometimes do this, but if you%26#039;re extremely concerned, go to the ER. 0% 0 Votes -
saok it on ice water to help shrink the swenning and use lots of oil to try to get it off after the swellikg has gone down.

try shortening, a lot of it. above and below the ring. then, work the ring up and down, twisting until it comes off.
don%26#039;t worry, if you could get it on, you can get it off, eventually.

Cold water on the finger. Then oil. Any type. Mineral - vegetable - motor or butter - lard. K-Y jelly etc.
Cold is to reduce the swelling. 0% 0 Votes -
The thread guy is right. It really works. Wrap the thread or dental floss fairly tightly above the ring, tuck the end of the thread between the ring and your finger and pull the thread while sliding the ring off. It really works.

this happened to me after a bee sting on my finger.....i had a friend drive me to the nearest jewelry store and they cut it off for me. may be smartest to go to the ER, but i acctually think i got faster service at the jeweler!

Ice it, elevate your hand, and see if the swelling goes down. Then gently try to get it off with the oil/soap. If that does not work, you will have to cut the ring off or get a jeweler (or even doctor) to do it for you.

take some thread and start wrapping it around your finger starting closest to the ring. Keep the thread on you finger close together so that no skin shows through... NOT too tight, but tight enough so the skin stays under the thread...this will make your finger skinnier, temporarily...slide ring off.and take off thread!
