The window was open. I was on my hands and knees so I was just about in it.

wash your eyes with lots of water. the fumes from bleach can cause chemical burn but only with lots of exposure. the only way I can use bleach is to leave the house and have my guy do it for me. 30% 3 VotesOther Answers (13)

Did you mix another cleaner with bleach if you did don%26#039;t do that because it can cause harmful fumes and irritants to your eyes.

I wouldn%26#039;t worry to much, my skin peels when i use bleach, without using gloves, and its also common for me to get eye irritation. Flush it out with water and go see the doctor if its painful.

Ok, get out of the house and get some fresh air. Keep windows opened, AC working and thensome for ventilation. Next time be careful. As for now you still ok, just as long as you didnt get any chemical directly in your eyes. I hope you didnt rub your eye with it, if you did then call poison/overdose/chemical center (there is always a number and instructions on each bottle). Overall you are good. If you want use clear eyes or visine. Also you may want to wash your hands and your face. Get some rest and dont repeat your mistake.

It may just be an adverse reaction to the bleach. First, stop the burning process (ie: move away from the bleach fumes). Then flush the area for 15-20 minutes. After that, if you feel no relief, see a doctor immediately.
Hope you feel better!

It%26#039;s possible you got a bit in your eyes. I would rinse them out and follow any instructions on the packaging!

It may be. Flush them with cool water for a few mins and see if that does any good. There should also be a number on the bottle of bleach you were using for the poisons informations centre. They%26#039;ll be able to advice you further of anything you need to do if your eyes are still stinging after flushing them with water. Even if the window was open, bleach tends to be a nasty household chemical. The fumes from the bleach probably came up towards your face and entered the eyes. Be really careful using bleach because it can also enter the lungs and cause irritation there.

your eyes are probably just irritated.. you should thoroughly rinse them out in saline solution or water.. if that doesn%26#039;t help go to the doc immediatly

Probably a reaction to chlorine gas that has been generated by the cleaning. It should wear off. If you also feel that your nose is very %26#039;open%26#039; that would confirm that it is the chlorine.

I%26#039;ve done that too...and it%26#039;s very painful but it%26#039;s probably not a chemical burn, you%26#039;ve irritated your eyes and you should flush your eyes with cool water or buy an over the counter eye wash at a pharmacy. Mostly your eyes will be burning and tearing a lot...I had to learn the hard way to keep a window open when cleaning with bleach! if you don%26#039;t have a window in your bathroom than you probably might want to consider using a less irritating cleanser or wear goggles, lol..yes, they will help.

It absolutely IS a chemical burn. Your flesh is unfit to withstand the fumes from a basic solution such as bleach. If you are able to, flush your eyes for 15 minutes with cold water, if not let them get plenty of fresh air.
The pH in bleach is high enough to literally eat your flesh, and the tissues of the eyes and lungs are very delicate. Answer Over!
