Burn Treatment?

the it on put and blister you to will but from burn

Burn Treatment? I just burned my finger on a hot pan. Now it has a blister. I already put ice on it, and I%26#039;ll put neosporin on it, but should I put a band-aid on it?

Best Answer

Run the burn under cool water for 10 or so minutes and lightly cover it (bandaids are okay). Burns need to breath to let the heat out. If you put something on it, it traps the heat and will keep hurting.

If the blister opens, then put neosporin and a bandaid on it. EMT

  • You should keep an Aloe plant in the house- It%26#039;s the best for burns.
I wouldn%26#039;t bandage it unless the blister opens up.
    Feel better:)
  • The treatment will depend on how bad the burn is. Cooling the area with an ice compress will help, but you shouldn%26#039;t put any sort of treatment with oil, as it will intensify the burn.

Keep the area clean and dry, but you don%26#039;t necessarily need to put a bandage on it unless the blister opens. And, more importantly, do not pick at or pop the blister! The skin covering the blister is your body%26#039;s own way of keeping infection away from the injury.
  • you can to keep it covered and from doing anymore damage to it, but you should not leave the bandaid on all the time so that the burn can breath a bit emt
