Jess B: The anti-depressants were shown to have a powerful effect on seriously depressed patients, but the other results were interesting. Too many people being diagnosed as clinically depressed when they are not? I don%26#039;t know but one trial doesn%26#039;t prove anything.

UPDATE: Hello Jody. I had a look at http://www.quackpotwatch.org/ and in my opinion believe that Tim Bolen has completely missed the point (although his comments on the politics of medical care have some foundation). I would not be surprised if Tim Bolen followed astrology and eagerly read his horoscope each day.

ADDITIONAL (2-28-08): Having collected 5 %26#039;thumbs down%26#039; so far reminds me that my former colleagues teaching science still have much work to do. Science teaching requires a lot of effort to get students to %26#039;un-learn%26#039; all the pseudo-science, mis-information and innacurate twaddle that is peddled as fact. 30 years teaching science and training science teachers. 40% 2 Votes 0% 0 Votes
