Toxicity levels are from 10-20 grams a day. You could damage you pancreas, get ulcers, have diarrhea, get blood clots, increase the acidity of urine and get kidney stones. The therapeutic (correct) dose is from 25-300 milligrams per day depending on the condition and your bodies needs. You should always consult with your dr before starting any supplements because increased levels of any substance in the body could have a reaction to some meds you may already be taking. 67% 2 VotesOther Answers (7)

Vitamin C is water soluble, so you should not be able to overdose easily. your kidneys will filter it out as long as you are well hydrated. If it was fat soluble, your concern would be warranted. High doses of Vitamin C are a cause of Kidney stones, so be careful with it.

You can overdose on *anything*, including water. The question is, would it be likely? Vitamin C is about as safe as any food. You would have to take enough to fill your stomach to die.

you can but the amount you would have to take would be hard to get. it is water soluble to if your body doesn%26#039;t need anymore it will just flush out of your system.
