What could this be? This is the cycle-I wake up fine, but as soon as I have a bowel movement I immediately? experience a pain in my upper abdomen, about an inch above my navel and it hurts, feels sore for most of the day. It calms down by evening and then I awake the next day, have another bowel movement and the cycle of pain returns. This has been going on for weeks-what is going on in my belly. Don%26#039;t have a doctor and am not into western medicine-prefer alternative-so I sure could use some feedback from those in the know out there-any ideas? Oh, and there is bright red blood in my stools, if that influences it. ... if you find out what is causing your pain %26amp; bleeding you can target healing modalities more specifically to heal it.

  • Any time you have blood in your stools at ALL that is something you need to have checked out by a doctor IMMEDIATELY. I%26#039;m pretty distrustful of doctors too but you need to be reasonable about it. At this point you need a medical test to find out what%26#039;s going on inside you because this could be something that needs surgery to fix. At least find out what is wrong so you can make an intelligent and informed decision of what course of treatment is going to be best for you, whether it be a traditional or alternative approach.
  • Blood in stools is a very serious situation! I know you want alternative ideas, but this is too serious to have ideals.
  • That is serious and you need to see a doctor.
  • Do you have pain after you have your food also. You should get yourself checked for Duodenal ulcers. And until and unless you know what your suffering from cant give you any treatment either. Better get the test.
  • In medical school we have been taught that bright red blood in stools is a classic sign of hemorrhoids. That does not rule out other conditions but it is a possibility. You need to see an MD immediately so that this situation can be taken care of. Hemorrhoids sometimes require surgery before they can be corrected. Good luck and don%26#039;t delay. Medical school
  • I know who you are phrasing it to. That being said that is could be diverticulitis. See what happens if you stay away from nuts or seeds.

Or it could be colon cancer. sorry to worry you, but the same thing happened to my grandmother.

this is the time to get it checked out by a MD.
  • I also prefer a holistic approach to wellness. However; there is a time for western medicine and you should never mess with your bowel. It is a very delicate organ and if something goes real wrong there, the alternative isn%26#039;t one you would want to consider. You could have an umbilical hernia or some kind of bowel disease... It is hard to tell. But with your symptoms and the fact they have continued on for weeks, I would get myself to a medial doctor and have them examine you. One thing that is real helpful. Make a journal; so when you finally go to the doctor they will have a really good idea of what has been happening day in and day out. Sometimes we forget everything we want to tell the doctor. This way you wont forget.

    Good Luck!!
