If anyone out there has taken both prescribed Naproxen and Aleve, does Aleve work just as good?

I recently had surgery to remove a contorted ovary. I do not take anything narcotic for pain. I was given naproxen for pain and it did work. Of course I still felt some discomfort but I did get relief. I personally like aleve better than any other over the counter pain reliever. I believe that the naproxen is better...you would probably need more aleve to amount to one dose of naproxen. (like when you are prescribed IB Profren they give you one pill for one dose, but if you buy motrin you would need 4 pills to equal the same amount).
